Life insurance isn’t a fun topic to think about as it involves the death of a family member. Who wants to think about that?
At the same time thinking about providing for your family in the event of your untimely demise is extremely important. You want your family to be able to grieve for you without having to worry about how they’re going to provide for themselves without you there. It stinks thinking about, but it is important.
So what kind of life insurance should you get? In my opinion having good term life insurance is usually a good bet. In a few circumstances whole life may make sense, but for the most part I would recommend sticking to 20 or 30 year term life insurance, while planning ahead to self-insure down the road.
