Our family has had its share of ups and downs over the years.
We’ve experienced catastrophic health incidents, lost loved ones, and had our share of difficult situations in our lives.
Through it all we’ve been able to keep our heads above water not because of anything we’ve done on our own, but because of our strong faith in Christ.
God gives us strength when ours is depleted.
He gives us hope in darkness when we can’t see the light.
He walks by our side and gives us the strength to carry on.
The main place that we get inspiration is from the Bible. Today I want to share a number of bible verses about faith that you can look to when times are hard.

Bible Verses About Faith
What does the Bible have to say about faith? It says that when we have faith and put our trust in God, He will be with us. He will answer our prayers and give us peace.
Here are some Bible verses about faith that speak to God’s good and loving nature, and talk about the promises he has made to us in His word when we have faith.

Bible Verses About Love: God’s Love For Us
God’s love for us abounds and is never-ending. He loved us so much that he gave his only son to die for our sins, and all we have to do is accept his gift in faith.

Faith Bible Verses To Bring Light Into The Darkness
We’re told that we will have troubles in this world. It’s a guarantee. We live in a fallen world.
The great news, however, is that God promises us that we have already won the victory through our faith in Jesus Christ. We can be encouraged by the promises found in His word.

Bible Verses For Faith And Courage When Belief Is Hard
There are times where our faith will be tested, and remaining in your faith may seem difficult. If we look to Him for strength, however, he will help us through our trials.
Do like the apostles and others did, and ask him to increase your faith!
“Faith. It does not make things easy, it makes them possible.” Anonymous
1 Peter 1:6-7 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
1 Corinthians 2:3-5 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
Proverbs 23:18 Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Romans 12:3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
My faith didn’t remove the pain, but it got me through the pain. Trusting God didn’t diminish or vanquish the anguish, but it enabled me to endure it.” Robert Rogers
Bible Verses About Faith In Action
When we are saved by faith in Christ, we should feel compelled by Jesus’ sacrificial gift of love to give to others as well. After all, the Bible says that faith without works is dead. By letting his light shine through us, we give glory to God.
James 2:14-26 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
“Faith in action is love, and love in action is service. By transforming that faith into living acts of love, we put ourselves in contact with God Himself, with Jesus our Lord.” – Mother Teresa
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 For we remember before our God and Father how you put your faith into practice, how your love made you work so hard, and how your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ is firm.
What Does The Bible Say About Faith?
The Bible talks extensively about having faith in God’s love and sovereignty. When we do, while we aren’t promised that things will be easy, we can know that God is with us through thick and thin, that he cares for us. He provides us the victory in any and all circumstances.
A spiritual mentor of mine, Pastor Bill Berg, said the following in his book, Words of Hope for All Times.
Let us not tremble and lament over what the world is coming to. Let us rather rejoice in the first coming of Jesus to this world to redeem it, and in His second coming to rule in glory, with justice and righteousness and peace. And while we wait may we lose our fears in self-giving love and service for Christ and for others.
Having faith in what is to come, and losing our fears in self-giving love and service for Christ will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.

‘Faith is an assurance to what is hoped’. Let me share to you my experience. This year I had worries about my career and grade result of my MA thesis. Last night, I meditated on Hebrew 1:3, which teaches that Jesus keeps everything by His word. I believed that God is in control of my worries. Right that night, I dreamed that my concerns are turned right! What I hoped is not yet come to pass; but, by faith, I have known that they are OK. I have confirmed that I have already received by faith. This is simple example; faith can do everything that look impossible

Thank you for gathering Bible verses pertaining to whatever need I may have. Because I want to remember so many verses without memorizing the entire Bible, I keep a notebook of my favorite and most relative verses. As I write in my notebook, I claim God’s Word and promises and ask for understanding and wisdom so that I may share them with others. Several years ago I was a patient in a nursing home to complete some extensive physical therapy after a knee injury. While there, I contracted a very contagious intestinal infection, called C diff. I became quite ill, was hospitalized for four weeks, then returned to the nursing home, only to be told that due to the extremely contagious nature of C diff, I was not allowed to leave my room for the three remaining weeks of antibiotic therapy. Anyone entering my room had to first dress in full gown, gloves, and mask. All of my food was brought in styrofoam containers on styrofoam trays, so they may be disposed of in a special container before leaving my room. I found that the styrofoam trays were a perfect medium for writing down all the Bible verses I could find about faith. As I filled each tray, I’d ask the nurse to hang it on the wall in my room, so that I could see it at all times. I finally recovered from the infection, then completed my physical therapy. As I was packing my things to be discharged from the facility, I was asked if I would mind letting them keep all the many trays of Bible verses that I had completed. They told me that many of the other patients there had heard about them and would love to have them for their own faith needs. When I began searching my Bible for verses about faith, then added verses about strength, hope, and God’s love and writing them down on the styrofoam trays, I had not realized that not only would I be so blessed by God’s word, but others may also. I was delighted to leave the trays there and prayed that they may help someone else in their time of need.
Inioluwa Prince says
One of the things that help us to keep strong faith in God in hard times is understanding the fact that Peace is not necessarily the absence of storms. Peace is stillness, calmness, and tranquility in the middle of the storm. When we put our trust in God, He helps us to stay strong and firm when the storm rage. Remember the house built upon the rock? Yes, it stood.
Penny Nicolai says
I want to thank God first and foremost for his word and how it works faith within us. I want to thank God for moving you to write these down and put them in the internet for encouragement and strength to others. I want to thank God that I was directed to the sight that you made… For it has been my strength and my hope in many dark times in my life and it helps me to know I am never alone and never be forsaken. You can’t put a price on that! May God bless you for the great goodness he has worked in you for the benefit of others. Grace and peace to you. God bless
